Gowna returned to the Cavan senior football final after a controlling second-half performance to see off Crosserlough.
Crosserlough shot out of the blocks and led five points to no score after six minutes. However two converted Cian Madden frees and Tiarnan Madden from play made it a two point game on 10 minutes.
Just a point separated the sides at half-time, Crosserlough leading nine points to eight at the break.
However, the defending champions went up a gear in the second-half.
Conor Madden’s goal moments after the restart put Gowna in the lead. Crosserlough had no answer for Gowna’s opening.
Three Tiarnan Madden points, two from Cian Madden and one each from Oisin Piersen made it a seven point game.
Gowna have scored six unanswered points.
The defending champions advancing to the final 1-18 to 14 points and ending Crosserlough’s county championship in brutal fashion.
Gowna will face Kingscourt stars in the Cavan county final on October 22nd.
