Gowna missed out on an Ulster club championship semi-final following a 5-3 loss to Enniskillen Gaels on penalties.
The game ended 2-14 to 1-17 after extra-time, the sides were tied 2-10, 1-13 at the end of normal time.
The sides traded two points each during the opening nine minutes. Three minutes later Gaels moved three points clear, Callum Jones finding the net.
John Reihill added another point for Gaels on 13 minutes. Four minutes later it was back to a one-point game thanks to a goal by Gowna’s TJ Fitzpatrick.
Enniskillen Gaels replied with two successive scores before Gowna levelled the game again on 22 minutes through a Robbie Fitzpatrick goal.
The Fermanagh champions finished the half stronger, landing three of the next four scores, leading 1-8 to 2-3 at half-time.
Gaels opened up a three-point gap seven minutes into the second-half. Two points from Cian Madden and one from Conor Madden restored parity on 48 minutes.
Eight minutes later; Callum Jones and Conor Madden were both sent-off, suddenly, both sides were reduced to 14 men.
Cian Madden gave Gowna a one-point lead two minutes into injury time only for his effort to be cancelled out by Eoin Beacom at the end of normal time.
Two points from Cian Madden and one from Conor Casey gave Gowna a three-point lead four minutes into extra-time.
Gaels responded impressively, landing two of the next three scores before two points from Conor Love sent the game to a penalty shoot-out.
Cian Madden missed Gowna’s first penalty. While Conor Casey, Oisin Pierson and Robbie Fitzpatrick were on target for Gowna, Enniskillen Gaels claimed victory converting five penalties.
