Gowna continued their perfect start to the Cavan senior football championship with a 1-14 to 0-8 victory over Lavey at Crosserlough.
Gowna led 1-3 to 0-3 on 19 minutes. Conor Madden’s goal on six minutes separating the sides.
Cian Madden followed up with three points as the defending county champions led 1-6 to 0-3 at half-time.
Karl Duke brought it back to a five-point game eight minutes into the second half. Two minutes later, Cian Madden restored Gowna’s six-point cushion.
Whereas, Cian Madden gave Gowna a nine-point cushion eight minutes from time and they held on to win by the same margin.
That's now two wins from two for Gowna who opened the Cavan SFC by beating Lacken 1-18 to 3-8.
Meaanwhile, Ramor United beat Mullahoran 2-14 to 1-11.
