Leona Maguire shot a three under-par 69 to open the JTBC Classic in Carlsbad, California.
Maguire is four shots off the lead after day one, with Jin Young Ko out in front on seven-under-par.
Cavan woman Maguire opened on the back nine and shot birdies at 13, 15 and 16. On the front nine Maguire took a birdie at the par five fifth but collected a bogey at seven.

Maguire finishes day one tied for eighth place with eight others. Ko has a two shot lead over country woman Hye-jin Choi head into the second round.
