Goals prove decisive as Monaghan minors lose to Antrim

A goal in each half proved decisive as the Monaghan minor footballers lost 2-11 to 0-11 to Antrim in the Ulster Championship first round at Inniskeen.

The sides were deadlocked at 1-5 to 0-8 at the break with Max McGinnity (three), DJ McElvaney (two), Tommy Mallen (two) and Bobby McCaul on target for Monaghan.

The visitors moved six points clear on 45 minutes when Kevin McCann scored their second goal before the sides traded two points each thereafter resulting in a six-point defeat for Monaghan.
