Cavan’s winning start to Allianz hurling league division 3b has ended following a 3-11 to 0-14 defeat at the hands of Lancashire at Abbotstown.
Lancashire dominated the opening period and goals from Conor Kennedy and Robin Spencer gave them a seven-point cushion on 29 minutes.
Cavan replied and points from Nicholas Kenny and Canice Maher saw the Breffni men trail by five points at half-time; 2-6 to 0-7.
Cavan’s Thomas Leonard made it a two-point game on 45 minutes but never managed reduce the deficit any further thereafter.
Kennedy added his second goal one minute from time resulting in a six-point defeat for Cavan.
