Monaghan have appointed Gabriel Bannigan as new senior manager.
Bannigan succeeds Vinny Corey who stepped down in August after two years at the helm. Bannigan served as a selector under Corey.
Indeed, former Leitrim manager Andy Moran is part of Bannigan’s backroom team. Along with John McElhone and former Monaghan captain Damien Freeman.
Monaghan GAA posted on X: "Monaghan GAA is delighted to announce that Aughnamullen native Gabriel Bannigan was formally ratified as Senior Football Manager by Monaghan County Committee at a meeting earlier this evening”.
"Gabriel will be joined by Andy Moran, John McElhone and Damien Freeman and has been appointed for a three-year term with a review after two years”.

Bannigan managed his club Aughnamullen from junior to senior football in three seasons in Monaghan. The new Monaghan boss previously worked with Dublin clubs Kilmacud Crokes and St Sylvester's.
Monaghan will start the 2025 season in Allianz league division two, outside Division 1 for the first time since 2015.
