A special Congress this weekend will see up on 50 motions been brought forward

The proposed rule changes that were trailed recently in the inter-provincial competition in Croke Park and also at a club level in Meath will be voted on in groups at this weekends Special congress in Croke Park. Several key changes to football have been proposed by the review committee including a 40 metre scoring arc with 2 points been awarded for scores outside off it, 3 defenders and 3 attackers to remain in one half of the field at all times and only 1 player from each side to be in the middle of the field for the start of each half. With close on 50 motions on the Clar, it is believed they will be broken into 18 groups with a 60 percent majority required to carry them.

Jim Gavin is chair of the review committee and he remarked that while the changes may seem over whelming to start with, the opportunity has been given to the clubs to make their decision ahead of the special congress
