Gowna booked their place in this year's Cavan SFC final following a 3-12 to 0-11 victory over Kingscourt Stars at Kingspan Breffni today.
The opening quarter was evenly contested with the sides deadlocked at four points each on 17 minutes.
A minute later, Gowna moved two points clear when Conor Madden found the net. The sides subsequently traded two points each as Gowna led 1-6 to 0-7 at half-time.
Kingscourt Stars began the second half impressively and a point each from Cian Shekleton and Barry Reilly restored parity on 37 minutes.
Gowna responded in style and the men from the lough shore hit four successive scores to lead which gave them a four-point cushion at the second water break.
Gowna doubled the margin with seven minutes remaining when Tiarnan Madden scored a goal and Conor Brady added another one four minutes into injury time resulting in a convincing win.
