The fixtures will get underway on May 18/19th

Cavan will get their All Ireland championship campaign in Group 2 underway with a either a trip to Galway or Mayo, depending on which side is the loser in this weekends Connacht final. There is a possibility of a visit of the All Ireland champions Dublin to Kingspan Breffni in round 2 as if expected they claim a 14th consecutive Leinster title with a victory over Louth. While the 3rd fixture will be at a neutral venue against Roscommon. A trip to Croke park could well be on the cards for the Rossies in their opening game of the All Ireland championship in Group 2 Dave Burke's are set to meet the Leinster winners with it been more than likely Dublin who are in search of a 14th consecutive provincial title when they face Louth on May the 12th of May. Dr. Hyde park will host an all Connacht affair with the defeated finalists of either Galway or Mayo the visitors in round 2. For Monaghan they will be making the trip to either Kerry or Clare in round 1 of Group 4 to face the Munster champions with the Leinster runners up the visitors to Clones in Round 2. The 3rd fixture for Vinny Corey's side will be against Meath at a neutral venue. Group 1 will Derry away to the Connacht champions in round 1 while there is potential for a repeat of the Ulster semi final in Round 1 of Group 3. Should Donegal lift the Anglo Celt cup they will face Tyrone again. The GAA announced the schedule of games which will commence on the weekend of May 18th/19th and finish up on June 15th/16th. Some commentary has been passed about the draws been made before the completion of the provincial championships which could see teams perhaps focusing on getting into an easier group depending on whither they are runner up or not in the province. Gaa commentator Damien Donohoe does not believe any side or management would be giving a thought to that
