The Monaghan hurlers claimed their second victory of the current Lory Meagher cup campaign beating Lancashire 5-19 to 3-18 at Birmingham.
The Farney men led 1-13 to 1-8 at half-time before a powerful second-half display saw them run out convincing winners.
Thomas Hughes registered Monaghan’s second goal on 45 minutes. Nine minutes later, he added another as the visitors moved six points clear.
Monaghan’s Niall Arthur and Fergal Rafter registered two goals in 60 seconds as Monaghan opened up a 12-point gap six minutes from time.
Lancashire replied with two late goals from frees but still fell short in the end.
