Five Monaghan players make Electric Ireland minor team of the year

Derry lead the way with six players with Monaghan claiming the next highest share.

Monaghan have five players named in the 2023 Electric Ireland GAA Minor Star football team of the year.

Goalkeeper Jamie Mooney gets rewarded for his consistency with a place on the team with corner-back Jack Lynch also included.

While, both Sean Og McElwain and Tommy Mallen are named in the half-forward line. Whereas, Matthew Finn gets the nod at full-forward.

All-Ireland champions Derry lead the way with six representatives with the Farney men claiming the next highest share.

Meanwhile, two players come from Kerry with Dublin and Mayo accounting for one each.

Separately, the Electric Ireland Minor Star Football Player of the Year has been named as Derry’s Johnny McGuckian.
