The FAI are awaiting developments ahead of Ireland’s UEFA nation’s league game with Ukraine this summer.
Stephen Kenny’s side are currently set to face Ukraine in Lviv on Tuesday, June 14th. The FAI will also welcome Ukraine to Dublin on June fourth for the opening group fixture.
In a statement, the FAI say; “The FAI awaits the outcome of the UEFA ExCo meeting on Friday, February 25th which has been called to discuss the current situation in the Ukraine”.
In related news, St Petersburg is expected to be stripped of this season’s Champions League final after UEFA condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The removal of the Russian city as host is expected at the UEFA ExcCo meeting tomorrow.
While, the FA's of Poland, Sweden and Czech Republic have written to UEFA saying they will refuse to play any 2022 World Cup play-off game in Russia.
