Errigal Ciaran and Cuala will meet in this year’s All-Ireland senior club football final.
Errigal Ciaran needed extra-time to book their spot in the final of the All-Ireland senior club football championship.
An extra-time goal from Joe Oguz was enough to see them past a resolute Dr. Crokes, 2-18 to 1-18 in Newbridge. The Canavan brothers, Ruairi and Darragh scored 1-13 of their 2-18 total.
Whereas, Cuala outclassed Coolrea Strandhill, 14 points to 11 in their semi-final at Breffni Park.
The Dublin champions led six points to two at half-time and stretched their lead to seven points on 41 minutes. However, the Sligo outfit fought back.
Adam Higgins, Mark McDaniel, Ross Doherty, Niall Murphy, Peter Laffey replied with points over the next six minutes to make it a two point game.
However, Cuala responded well. Points from Niall O’Callaghan and Con O’Callaghan 0-2 made it 12 points to eight on 58 minutes.
Con and Niall finished the scoring to seal a 14 points to 11 victory.
The sides will meet in Croke Park in the All-Ireland club final next Sunday, January 19th.
