Monaghan county board held their annual convention last night with a number of elections taking place and a financial report that showed a deficit of just over €235,000.
In a detailed breakdown of figures, Treasurer Eileen Keenan highlighted how increased travel, accommodation and meal costs saw a marked rise in expenditure.
On what was a busy evening of business; the position of secretary went to a vote with Scotstown's Michael Owen McMahon elected.
Whereas, John McArdle from Drumhowan also won out on a vote for the role of assistant treasurer.
The annual awards seen Scotstown captain Damien McArdle named as senior player-of-the-year. Jack Doogan of Magheracloone the intermediate player and Patrick Quinn from Drumhowan taking the junior accolade.
Niall Garland was announced as senior hurler winner with Casey Treanor from Scotstown the Ladies footballer. Whereas, the camogie player-of-the-year went to Michelle Morgan of Clontibret.
Club Monaghan senior footballer of the year went to Michael Bannigan with Sean McDermotts named as club-of-the-year.
