East Cavan Gaels were crowned Cavan senior hurling champions following a 0-15 to 1-9 victory over Cootehill Celtic at Kingspan Breffni.
The sides were level at 0-4 to 1-1 inside 13 minutes, Diarmaid Carney with the goal for Cootehill Celtic.
Liam O’Brien pushed Gaels four points clear on 22 minutes. Scores from Cian Farrelly and Conor Shalvey made it a two-point game at the break; 0-9 to 1-4.
Gaels found another gear during the third quarter. O’Brien pushed them six points clear on 43 minutes.
Shalvey halved the deficit five minutes later before O’Brien restored Gaels’ five-point cushion four minutes from time.
Lonan McKenna replied with two unanswered points for Cootehill but Gaels held on for a three-point win
