Monaghan bowed out of the Ulster U20 championship after an eight point defeat to Down in Esler park.
Down won out 1-17 to 1-9, having trailed 1-10 to five points at half-time.
Stephen Mooney scored four points from set balls in the first-half with Dylan Byrne adding the other point.

Oisin Savage landed Down’s goal on 20 minutes, ending the half with 1-5. Monaghan played stronger in the second-half against the wind.
Mooney grabbed a late goal but it was Down who advance to the final by eight points.
