Donegal fight back to beat Cavan minors and book a place against Monaghan in the Ulster minor semi-final

Cavan bowed out of the Ulster minor championship after Donegal’s late rally booked a place in the semi-final.

Donegal scored a one point victory, winning out 1-11 to 2-7 after a late goal rush.

In a very tight affair Donegal led five points to two at half-time. Second-half Cavan points from Joshua Shehu, Eanna Ward, Jake Whyte and Ben Tully saw the game level six points each, 10 minutes after the restart.

Lorcan McGee edged Donegal ahead on 18 minutes, only for Dylan Edwards to fire in a Cavan goal a minute later.

Jamie Clarke made it a three point game eight minutes from time. Ben Tully’s goal from the 45m line with six minutes left looked to have sealed Cavan victory.

Cavan led 2-7 to seven points. However, Donegal recovered to score 1-2 before the hour mark. Darragh Hennigan and Shane Callaghan tagged on points in injury time for the win.
