Denn reached the All-Ireland junior club football semi-finals following a 3-16 to 2-6 victory over St. Brendan’s at Crossmaglen today.
Denn led 0-7 to 1-2 at the half-time break before a dominant second-half display saw Stephen Baxter’s men emerge victorious.
Colm Conway’s goal on seven minutes gave St Brendan’s a three-point lead before Denn hit four unanswered points during the remainder of the first quarter.
Two further points from Thomas Edward Donohoe gave Denn a three point cushion before the Manchester outfit reduced the margin to two points at half-time.
Denn hit three points inside the first five minutes of the second half before Jamie Reilly’s goal on 41 minutes helped make it a seven-point game at the three-quarter mark.
Paddy McCoy’s goal on 50 minutes reduced the margin to five points only for his effort to be cancelled out by Denn’s Caolain McCabe three minutes later.
Sean Donohoe registered Denn’s third goal with a minute of normal time remaining as the Cavan champions emerged victorious.
Stephen Baxter’s men can now look forward to an All-Ireland semi-final meeting with Kerry champions Gneeveguilla.
