Darren Hughes returns from long injury lay-off

There was a welcome sight at the weekend for Monaghan supporters as Darren Hughes made his return to the field of play following a 22-week lay-off with an injury.

The Scotstown clubman, picked up a serious leg injury last May playing against Cavan in the Ulster preliminary round defeat; featured for his club in their round four championship win over Corduff.

Speaking after the game he noted that knowing there was a possibility he could get back playing this year; which was the focus for the past few months.
