Crosserlough book return to Cavan final

Crosserlough booked their place in the Cavan senior football final with a two point win over Cavan Gaels.

Crosserlough took advantage of the first-half wind taking a six point lead at half-time.

Emmet Boylan having opened the scoring on three minutes. Luke Molly levelled the game 60 seconds later, Cavan Gaels only score of the half.

Brandon Boylan, Patrick O'Reilly and a Matthew Costello free giving Crosserlough a four points to one lead on nine minutes.

Costello from play 12 minutes later and one each from Brandon and Emmet Boylan gave Crosserlough the seven points to one half-time lead.

Gearoid McKiernan led a small Cavan Gaels recovery with two points (1f) after the restart. Peter and James Smith responded for Crosserlough making it nine points to three on 44 minutes.

However, Gaels pulled it back to a three point game with points from Emmanuel Shehu and two from McKiernan (1f). Making it a three point game with four minutes to play.

Stephen Smith fired over an important Crosserlough score a minute later to make it a four point game.

John Fortune and McKiernan brought it back to a two point game. However, Gaels couldn’t find a score in the four minute of injury time.

Crosserlough progress to the Cavan county final on October 20.
