Craigbane end Knockbride Ulster junior championship hopes

Derry’s Craigbane St. Joseph’s had too much for Knockbride in their Cavan quarter-final.

The Derry sides scoring a three point victory, 1-10 to 1-7, having led six points to one at half-time. Lorcan Reilly scoring Knockbride’s solitary first-half point. Whereas, Lee Moore 0-4 and Fergal Mortimer 0-2 accounted for Craigbane.

The Cavan champions staged a small comeback through points from Reilly, Ciaran Smith and Liam Fay, making it a two-point game.

However, Jude McLaughlin’s 48th minute goal sealed it for the Derry side.

Ben Mulvey found the Derry sides net in the first minute of injury time but, alas it was too little to late.

Craigbane advance to meet Drumhowan in the semi-final, 1-10 to 1-7.
