The county board have released a statement saying they’ve the best interest of Cavan ladies football at heart.
The statement emerges after Cavan declined to fulfil their final division two league fixture on Sunday.
The Breffni women were due to face Tyrone but pulled out due to an unresolved dispute with the board.
The statement read; “It is with deep regret that we find ourselves making this statement as a board to the clubs in Cavan.
“We recognise the face that all parties within Cavan ladies football have suffered in the past week.
“As volunteers working with the best interests of Cavan ladies at heart, we would hope that our members would be treated with the same respect and dignity as out players.”
The board also outlined their position on various aspects of the dispute; including the payment of expenses and the provision of gear.
The statement concluded with the board re-iterating their commitment to Cavan ladies football;
“By Saturday evening, we believed that all matters had been resolved, and we would continue to work together for the future development of Cavan ladies football.
“Making change does not happen overnight, and we have endeavoured over the last three months to support our players and members.”
