In the 2nd round of the National night navigation championship Denis O'Donovan and Derek Butler were the winners of the Carbery navigation trial on Saturday night in Cork. They managed to clean the event ahead of Novice crew of Amy Gallwey and Brian O'Mahony with Ken Carmody and James Fitzgerald completing the top 3 and taking the expert class win. The Monaghan pairing of Ryan Treanor and Darragh Kelly took 4th place and the semi expert win ahead of fellow farney competitors Conor Mohan and Michael Carbin who completed the top 5. Seamus Mc Tigue and Shane Dalton were 3rd in that class. Shane Maguire and Eoghan Corr were 2nd in the Novice class just ahead of Ryan Farrell and Ray O'Neill.
The championship takes a break over the festive season but will return once again in Cork at the end of January with the 100 Isles Navigation trial.
