Diarmaid Marron’s last-gasp point saw Corduff score a 0-12 to 2-5 victory at home Aughnamullen in Monaghan senior football championship group one.
The visitors were two points clear with four minutes remaining before three unanswered points saw Corduff emerge victorious.
Aughnamullen’s Kevin Sheridan found the net eight minutes in. Ten minutes later Micheal Bannigan added a point as the visitors moved two points clear.
Corduff responded impressively. Points from Fergal Hanratty and Jordan McGarrell restored parity on 20 minutes.
Gavin McEnaney restored Aughnamullen’s two-point cushion four minutes later. Scores from Tiernan Duffy and Aaron McGee resulted in a level game at half-time; 1-3 to 0-6.
Diarmaid Marren edged Corduff in front ten minutes into the second half. Aughnamullen were dealt a blow eight minutes later; Keith Sheridan was shown a straight red card.
Kieran Duffy restored parity on 50 minutes but Fergal Hanratty restored Corduff’s one-point cushion 60 seconds later.
Aughnamullen moved two points clear when Mark McArdle scored a goal four minutes from time. However, the hosts finished the game with a flourish.
Two points from Hanratty saw Corduff draw level 60 seconds into injury time before Diarmaid Marren landed the winner right at the death.
