McManus was in attendance on Saturday afternoon, however was carrying a heavy bandage on his hand. McCartan revealing the injury was more serious than a suspected dislocation.
“It’s a wee bit more serious” explained McCartan. “He’s probably going to be pretty long term at this minute in time. It’s probably looking like the season is over for Conor”.
The Clontibret score-line certainly didn’t give the impression McManus was missed. Clontibret winning out 14 points to 13. McCartan admitted the whole team need to provide scores.
“We have to” explained McCartan, “he’s such a big part of the team and a part of the club all over the years. You don’t lose that without other people having to step up”.
“Luckily all our other guys have stepped up. It’s a pleasing aspect that we’ve got scores from our defenders. They stepped up today”.
