It is set to be a busy weekend of club league action in the Northern Sound region with the competitions entering the knock out stages. In Cavan this evening (Friday) the first of the Division 1 league semi finals will see Ramor United and Cavan Gaels meet at 8pm in St Mattehews Park. On Sunday the 2nd semi final will see Crosserlough and Ballyhaise meet at 1pm at the Lavey GAA grounds. The first of the Division 2 semi finals throws in tomorrow evening (Saturday) with Arva and Cornafean meeting at 6pm in Ballinagh. On Sunday Mullahoran and Drumlane meet at 1pm. The Division 3 semi finals is Munterconnaught against Drumalee and Templeport St Aidans taking on Kill Shamrocks. Both games are on Saturday evening with 6pm throw ins.
In Monaghan it is at the quarter final stages of the senior, Intermediate and Junior leagues. On Sunday Truagh welcome Ballybay in the senior competition, with Donaghmoyne and Scotstown also facing each other. Both those games are at 1pm. The intermediate quarter finals will see Cremartin up against Monaghan Harps on Sunday and on Saturday evening Tyholland are the visitors to Doohamlet. In the junior league, Clones and Scotsotwn meet on Sunday and Rockcorry go up against Eire Og. An added feature to this years league competition is the relegation play offs. The senior competition will see Inniskeen taking on Castleblayney while Carrickmacross face Aughnamullen. The losers of those encounters will not face automatic relegation but instead have an opportunity to stay up in the championship.
