The Monaghan senior football championship group tables are slowly taking shape with Clontibret the only side to have secured a knockout place following their 3rd win in row, this time at the expense of Donaghamoyne as they top Group 2. The O'Neills side will have a 2 week break now as there is no fixtures this coming weekend while they have a bye in round 4. Killanny have been the surprise side of the group and the championship as their 2nd win in 3 outings has them 2nd in the table on 4 points. There latest win came over Latton and manager John Kennedy admitted that hard work will often trump any tactical set up
Latton currently sit 3rd in the table with Inniskeen and Donaghmoyne 4th and 5th respectively.
Group 1 is headed by the defending champions Scotstown who are 2 wins from 2 having had a bye at the weekend. Corduff share the same number of points as them having played an extra game as they claimed their 2nd win in the championship with a victory over Aughnamullen who are still awaiting their first points while Ballybay's draw with Cremartin has them 3rd in the table on 3 points.
