Clontibret maintained their perfect start to the Monaghan senior football championship with a convincing win at home to Killanny.
The hosts were seven points clear at the restart and the hosts held on to win 0-13 to 0-4.
Clontibret got off to an impressive start leading five points to one inside 19 minutes.
Dean McDonnell, Francis Hughes, Darragh Hughes, Dean McDonnell and Kieran Greenan on target for Clontibret; Conor Vernon got Killanny off the mark.
Oisin Burns replied for Killanny 60 seconds later before Clontibret landed four successive points.
Scores from Conor Boyle, Darragh Hughes, Killian Lavelle and Francis Hughes saw the hosts led 0-9 to 0-2 at half-time.
Killanny's Killian Collins made it a six-point game eight minutes into the second half. However the visitors failed to score thereafter.
Whereas, Clontribret sealed victory with three unanswered points. Scores from Darren McDonnell, Aaron Carey and Dean McDonnell helped the Paul McCartan’s side pick up their second win from as many games.
