It was a case of a trophy each for the top two darts teams in Monaghan last weekend.
Clontibret were crowned county league champions, while the Welcome Inn in Ballybay won the knockout cup.
In an exciting end to the season on Saturday night. League runners-up the Welcome Inn, gained revenge on Clontibret by beating them in a hard fought final held in the Plex Bar, Threemilehouse.
The victory for the Ballybay boys came just a week after losing to Clontibret in the final game of the league campaign to be crowned champions.
Led by Captain Kevin Gormley; Clontibret went the entire league campaign unbeaten. Fending off teams from Castleblaney, Doohamlet, Threemilehouse, Tydavnet and Ballbay to win the trophy.
However, on Saturday night, Ballybay's Welcome Inn team, including reigning Irish Open champion Shane McGuirk amongst their ranks, proved too strong for Clontibret and won the Monaghan knockout cup.
Next up for Monaghan darts is the All-Ireland inter-county championships in Trim this upcoming weekend.
Monaghan, are one of eight seeded teams in the tournament and made it as far as the quarter-finals last year.
Monaghan have no less than five of the cup winning Ballybay team in their squad.
