Ramor United kicked off the Kiernan’s Service Station Cavan Senior Football Championship with a shock victory over reigning champions Crosserlough 1-12 to 0-14 last Thursday.
On Friday, Gowna edged Killygarry by the smallest of margins with the league champions winning 2-8 to 0-13.
On Saturday, last year’s beaten finalists Kingscourt Stars defeated Shercock 0-13 to 1-9 while Lavey and Castlerahan played out a seven goal-thriller with Lavey winning 5-5 to 2-11.
The other Saturday fixture ended in a draw as Laragh United drew 1-15 to 0-18 with Lacken.
The final round one tie took place on Sunday where Cavan Gaels were too strong for Ballinagh with Gaels winning 4-13 to 0-6
