The quarter final pairings in the senior football championship in Cavan will be confirmed on Sunday when the round 4 fixtures all throw in. With 3 of the 8 positions already secured by Crosserlough, Mullahoran and Ramor United, the remaining 9 teams will be competing for the 5 knock out places with the other 4 going into the relegation play offs. It currently stands that 10th place Ballinagh will take on Lavey who are one place below them. Cavan Gaels who are 5th go up against 3rd placed Ramor United. Crosserlough and Mullahoran will meet to decide who tops the group with the Dreadnoughts requiring a win to leap frog to the top of the table. Castlerahan who are currently in 9th place take on Laragh utd who prop up the table with no points. 4th place Ballyhaise take on Kingscourt who are 2 positions below them in 6th while the defending senior champions Gowna occupy 8th spot but face Killygarry who are just below them with a win for either side in that fixture required to ensure their progress in the championship. With still so much to play for going into the final group games, GAA commentator Damien Donohoe noted it is a case of finding a competitive balance and timing your run as the competition goes on
