Cavan secured a Dr McKenna cup semi-final spot after a five point victory over Armagh.
Cavan won out 1-14 to 1-9 to secure top spot in section C and booked a place in this weekend’s semi-final.
Just eight minutes where on the clock when Ryan O’Neill found the Armagh net. This moved Cavan into a 1-2 to one point lead.
Armagh remained composed however and the game was tied 1-6 to nine points at half-time. Dara McVeety and Raymond Galligan both scoring two points for Cavan in the first-half.
Cavan added five points to their tally in the second-half before Joe Sheridan rattled in a 64th minute goal.
However the gap was then too much and Cavan recorded a 1-14 to 1-9 victory.
Cavan will now face Tyrone in the McKenna Cup semi-final on Saturday January 14th at 5pm in Kingspan Breffni.
