Cavan Regional Sports Campus have been awarded a Large Scale Sport Infrastructure Fund for their new development.
Indeed, the successful application to the Large Scale Sport Infrastructure Fund; resulted in €19 million being made available to the project.
Indeed, the award documents notes the funding for use in “Phase 1 of a 2-phase development; will provide covered sports arena with playing pitch, spectator seating, and other ancillary accommodation”.
“Sports centre building with changing facilities, multi-purpose rooms, reception, and ancillary accommodation”.
“GAA fields (4), synthetic hockey/multi-sport pitch, cricket practice area/ catch-nets. All with lighting”.

Indeed, a statement from Cavan GAA read; "Cavan GAA are delighted today with the announcement that the application for the Regional Sports Complex has been awarded 19 million in the Large Scale Sports Infra[1]structure Fund (LSSIF)".
"This is a major stepping stone for Cavan GAA; Cavan LGFA and Cavan Camogie who signed a landmark memorandum of agreement for the shared use of facilities, earlier this year. This is the first of many funding applications that will be required to complete this project over many phases".
