Cavan recorded a second victory in as many games after beating Wexford 0-17 to 1-8 at Kingspan Breffni Park in Allianz football league division four.
Mickey Graham’s men led 12 points to three at the half-time break and held off a second-half resurgence from Wexford to record a six-point victory.
Cavan made the better start and were three points clear on 18 minutes; Raymond Galligan, Patrick Lynch, Gearoid McKiernan and Thomas Galligan on target for the Breffni men.
The hosts dominated the remainder of the half hitting eight of the next ten scores resulting in a nine-point cushion at the break.
The sides traded a point each during the next 20 minutes before John Tubritt found the net on 51 minutes to make it a six-point game.
The sides traded cancelled each other out thereafter resulting in victory for Cavan. The result leaves Mickey Graham’s men in second place in the division four table.
