The Tailteann Cup finalists will be confirmed this weekend with the semi finals forming a double header in Croke park on Sunday afternoon. First up is the meeting of Cavan and Sligo at 1:45. The Yeats county overcame London in round 1 before requiring penalties to see off Leitrim in the quarter final. It has been a bit more straight forward for Cavan who were comfortable winners over Down in round 1 and accounted for another Ulster county in the quarter final when they defeated Fermanagh. Having exited the provincial championship at the semi stage following a loss to Donegal, Mickey Graham has used the secondary competition to introduce new players to his panel. Among them is Niall Carolan who made the step up from the U20 panel to get a start against Fermanagh having coming on against the Mourne men.
