Cavan landed their first win of Allianz league division 3A with an impressive victory over Louth.
Cavan scoring a 3-19 to 1-19 win in Kingspan Breffni. The Breffni side leading 2-10 to 0-12 at half-time.
The sides split the first 10 points. The sides were level at five point’s a-piece when Matthew Hynes scored a 14th minute goal for Cavan.
A second Cavan goal arrived 10 minutes before the break with the Breffni leading 2-10 to 0-12 at half-time.
Liam O’Brien added a third Cavan goal two minutes into the second-half. Darren Geoghegan brought his tally to 1-9 as Louth got back into the game with 15 minutes remaining.
As, points from Geoghegan and Conor Murphy brought the margin down to four points as the game ticked into the red. However, Ollie Bellew’s side hit the final two points to take victory.
Cavan currently sit third in division 3B after last week's defeat to Sligo.
Meanwhile, Fermanagh scored a big 1-26 to 1-5 win over Leitrim in division 3B at Ballinamore.
Fermanagh powered ahead in the first half leading 1-9 to 0-2 at half-time. The Fermanagh goal coming from Jimmy Tormey. Clement Cunniffee and Conor Hackett with the Leitrim points.
The hosts grabbed a goal on the 59th minute, adjuged to be an own goal off the Fermanagh keeper.
Gavin O’Hagan saw red after a second yellow card in the final minutes as Leitrim fell to a 21-point defeat.
Fermanagh host Warwickshire in round three on Saturday February 24th.
