Cavan ladies suffered relegaton to the TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate championship following a 1-19 to 0-8 defeat at the hands of Waterford at Crettyard.
A dominant first-half display saw Waterford lead 1-8 to 0-3 at half-time. Aisling Gilsenan (two) and Aine Smith were on target for Cavan. Waterford taking a huge boost on 19 minutes when Hallinan finished a McGregor effort to the net
Waterford moved ten points clear six minutes after the restart. Three Cara McCaffrey points saw the breffni side make it a seven-point game 12 minutes later. Bríd McMaugh came on to shoot three long-range points for Waterford
The Breffni women were held scoreless thereafter. Seven unanswered points saw Waterford run out 14-point winners.
