Cavan are looking to make it two promotions in-a-row in the Allianz hurling league.
The Breffni men promoted to division 3A last season. Whereas the hurling league restructure, means two teams will be relegated and two promoted this season.
The top four teams in division 3A will form the new division 3. Along, with teams finishing fourth, fifth, sixth in division 2b will form division three.
Mayo and Sligo sit on eight and seven points in division 3A. Cavan are third with four points and Louth fourth and fifth Monaghan. Both have two points each.
However, the bottom two teams currently, Monaghan and Armagh (one point) will be relegated to the new division four. The division 3B teams will all play in division four next season.
Monaghan need to win to try and avoid the drop while a win for Cavan would result in a semi-final spot. Teams finishing second and third play a semi-final to play the team finishing top in the division 3A final.
If Louth beat Armagh and Monaghan beat Cavan, three teams would finish on four points. Meaning score difference would be the deciding factor.
