Cavan hurlers bottom of the table after losing to Lancashire

The Cavan hurlers are rooted to the bottom of the Lory Meagher cup table following a 0-17 to 1-13 loss to Lancashire at Kingspan Breffni.

Lancashire were three points up on 26 minutes and held on to lead by the same margin at half-time; 0-11 to 0-8.

Cavan’s Fiachra Hughes reduced the gap to a single point on 49 minutes but Lancashire responded impressively and moved four points clear heading into injury time.

Cavan scored 1-2 in stoppage time with Mark Moffett finding the net but the hosts still lost out by the smallest of margins.
