Cavan Gaels booked their place in the Cavan senior football championship semi-finals following a 1-11 to 0-10 victory over Laragh United on Friday.
Cavan Gaels led 1-7 to 0-4 at half-time and held off a late resurgence from Laragh United to record a six-point victory.
The sides were deadlocked at three points each on 12 minutes before a Paul O’Connor goal on 21 minutes helped them to a six-point buffer at half-time.
A point from Gearoid McKiernan opened up a seven-point gap with eight minutes left and while Laragh United replied with three unanswered points, it was too little too late.
