Cavan Eagles 11-match winning streak has ended following a ten-point defeat at the hands of the Limerick Celtics.
Their Missquote.ie women’s division one clash ended 69 points to 59 at Dooradoyle, Limerick.
Limerick Celtics started on the front foot leading 18-16 after the first quarter. An even better second-half display saw them lead 36-27 at half-time.
Eagles narrowed the margin during the third quarter but still trailed 49-42 heading into the final period
Celtics responded impressively and won the final quarter 20-17 resulting in defeat for the visitors.
Despite tasting defeat, Eagles remain 12 points clear at the top of the table. Eagles next game is set to be the league play-off semi-final against the second placed team in the southern conference on March 18th.
