McEvoy's Cavan Eagles bowed out of the national league division one play-off's after a 80-71 defeat to Portlaoise Panthers in the national arena.
Eagles started slowly and trailed by 19 points, 30-11 at first-quarter time. Eagles struggled to recover after the slow start.
The Cavan side battled back in the second-quarter, inspired by Niamh Tolan. Although it was only after half-way through the quarter that Eagles responded.
Imani Dixon shooting pulling Eagles back into the game as they trailed 46-34 at half-time.
While Eagles outscored Panthers in the third-quarter. 19-12, the damage done in the opening quarter was the difference.
Eagles unable to pull score-line level as Panthers were inspired by Shauna Dooley and Megan Dunne. Sarah Fleming’s three-pointers a weapon Panthers generally deployed.
