The Breffni side are 1 of only 6 footballing counties who are still in competitive action

It is a big weekend of action in Croke Park with the All Ireland football semi finals and the first ever Tailteann cup final. Cavan and Westmeath get the action underway on Saturday at 3pm when they meet in the decider of the new competition. The Breffni side enter the game as favourites after finding themselves in the competition following their demotion to Division 4 last year while in 2020 they were crowned the Ulster senior champions. Speaking to Damien Donohoe, defender Padraig Falkner noted it was nice to be still involved in championship football at this time of the year.

We will have full live coverage of the Tailteann cup from Croke Park on Saturday sport with thanks to Erne Motor works - Toyota Dublin Road Cavan. That fixture will be followed by the semi final meeting of Galway and Derry at half five. On Sunday the 2nd of the semi finals will see Dublin and Kerry face each other at 3:30
