The weekends final round group games decided the quarter final pairings

The quarter-final line-up for the Cavan senior football championship is now known after Sunday's final group games.

Defending champions Gowna came back from a five point deficit, 2-7 to 0-8 with 20 minutes remaining, to win 15 points to 2-8 and setup a quarter-final meeting with Ballyhaise. Boss Fintan Reilly says his side never give up.

Elsewhere, Cavan Gaels booked a place in the quarter-final stage after fighting back to beat Ramor United by one point, 1-11 to 1-10.

Indeed, Ramor led 1-6 to 0-7 at half-time. However Gaels fought back to setup a quarter-final with Mullahoran.

Elsewhere, Castlerahan scored a 5-16 to 10 point win over Laragh United. Whereas, Crosserlough saw off Mullahoran 2-14 to eight points.

Whereas, Ballyhaise saw off Kingscourt Stars 2-12 to 1-11 and Ballinagh had a two point win over Lavey 1-15 to 1-13.

The remaining quarter-final pairings, see Crosserlough facing Ballinagh and Ramor United taking on Castlerahan. Those ties are scheduled to be played weekending September 22nd.

In the intermediate championship there were wins for Shercock, Cuchulainn's, Denn, Butlersbridge, Arva and Baileborough. Whereas, Cootehill drew with Drumlane.
