Cavan soccer stars Scott & Craig Roche have been accepted into the Atletico Madrid Football Academy in Dublin.
The Cavan pair join at U18 level after been scouted at a friendly Match.
The talented youngsters Scott a 15-year-old goalkeeper and Craig who plays right and left wingback have been members of the Carrick Rovers FC Academy for the past two-years.
Scott has been training with the Darren Randolph Academy in Abbotstown after being scouted by Darren Foy in Navan at a summer Camp when he was nine-years old.
Scott moved into the elite section of the Randolph Academy after six-months under Coach Brian O'Shea. O’Shea played for Liverpool FC.
It was a fine achievement and an incredible experience for the lads joining Atletico Madrid. They're now competing in the Dublin District Soccer League (DDSL).
The brothers made a major impression at his trials during the summer. Having travelled to Dublin with their mum Mary Roche, then received an opportunity to travel to Turkey to play in friendly tournaments. Where they beat Switzerland's second premier division u18s team 6-1.
While in Turkey the 15-year-old goalkeeper was approached by Robert Stachura; FIFA Agent who invited both lads out to Cyprus for a week at his Academy.
