Cavan booked their place in the Ulster U20 quarter-finals with a 2-9 to 1-11 win over Fermanagh.
Cavan will now face group A runner's up Derry in next Wednesday’s quarter-final. One group stage win enough for Cavan to progress.
The Breffni side led 1-6 to five points at half-time. Matthew Smith opened the scoring with a second minute goal.
Points from Darragh Lovett (2), Cian Keaney, Daire Madden, Eoghan Hartin and Matthew Smith helped Cavan to the lead.
Fermanagh’s scores came from Conor O’Hanlon 0-3 (45), Sean Conlon and Diarmaid Owens.
Sean Conlon brought it back to a three point game a minute into the second-half. Points from Shehu, Lovett and Keaney moved Cavan six clear on 37 minutes.
Conor O’Hanlon (f) brought it back to five points on 40 minutes. Shehu and Jack Quinlan exchanged scores as Fermanagh refused to give in.
Michael Burns found the visitors net with 11 minutes remaining to make it a one point game.
However, Darragh Lovett responded with a Cavan goal two minutes later. It would prove to be Cavan’s final score of the game.
Fermanagh points from Cian O’Brien and two from Caolan Fitzpatrick (1f) brought it back to a one point game in injury time.
However, it wasn’t enough as the breffni held on for a one point win. Fermanagh bow out of the championship while Cavan face Derry in the quarter-finals.
Derry beat Antrim 5-16 to three points to seal second place in group A, after Monaghan were crushed by Tyrone.
