Cavan are promoted to Allianz football league division two despite losing 2-9 to 1-14 to Fermanagh at Kingspan Breffni.
Cavan were three points clear at half-time before a superior second-half display saw Fermanagh claim victory and promotion to the second tier.
The sides were deadlocked at 1-1 to 0-4 on 21 minutes; Jonathan McCabe with Cavan’s opening goal inside the first minute.
Killian Clarke added a second goal on 22 minutes and the sides subsequently traded two points each as Cavan led 2-3 to 0-6 at the break.
Cavan started the second half impressively; Gearoid McKiernan made it a five-point game within five minutes of the restart.
On 56 minutes, Fermanagh got their noses in front when Ultan Kelm found the net. 60 seconds later Oisin Brady levelled the game.
The visitors responded by hitting four of the last six scores resulting in a two-point victory. Both sides will face each other again next week in the division three final.
