Paddy Lynam’s last-gasp point saw Longford salvage a draw with Cavan at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.

Canice Maher appeared to win the game for Cavan three minutes into injury time, before Lynam’s heroics levelled the game right at the death.
Longford made a blistering start, John Mulhern’s sixth minute goal helping the hosts lead 1-3 to no score.
Cavan eventually settled into the game. Points from Canice Maher (five), Nicky Kenny (four) and Mark Moffett saw them draw level on 32 minutes.
The sides subsequently traded two points each resulting in a level scoreboard at half-time; 1-9 to 0-12.
David Buckley’s goal five minutes after the restart gave Longford a three-point cushion. However, Cavan responded well, Kenny restored parity two minutes from time.
