Castleblayney claimed a sixth Monaghan SHC title in a row following a comfortable 2-15 to 1-8 victory over Carrickmacross at the Truagh GAA grounds.
Castleblayney completely dominated the second half having led 1-7 to 0-6 at half-time; Brian McGuigan with the opening goal three minutes in.
The reigning champions began the second half in explosive fashion and moved 11 points clear on 49 minutes when Thomas Hughes found the net.
The sides cancelled each other out during the remainder of the contest with Luke McKenna scoring a goal for Carrickmacross four minutes from time.
It was too little too late in the end as Castleblayney ran out convincing winners.
